How To Create A Vision Board

As we look ahead into 2018, what are some of the things you'd like to create? What would you like to be experiencing more of in your life?

Vision boards are a fantastic way to get clear on what you're looking to be feeling at the end of 2018 and what you'd like to have achieved this year. They can be really powerful for creating change and helping you stay focused on your goals.

Creativity is also something most of us don't have enough of in our lives and we need it.

As the wonderful Brené Brown said:
'I'm not very 'creative' doesn't work.
There is no such thing as creative people and non-creative people. There are only people who use their creativity and people who don't. Unused creativity doesn't just disappear. It lives within us until it's expressed, neglected to death or suffocated by resentment and fear.

What you need:
A plain sheet of card (I use A3 but you can choose what works for you), a couple of magazine, scissors, glue, a candle and some nice music

Light the candle and play some music that makes you feel happy.

Step 1: Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. Imagine it's December 2018 and you're looking back on your year, what would you like to have experienced? What are the things that made you feel happy and fulfilled? What was your peek moment of 2018?

Step 2: Flick through the magazines and cut out anything that stands out to you. Quotes, pictures, colours. There is no right or wrong way to do this. If you have a clear vision that you'd like to buy a house this year, perhaps look out for some houses that appeal to you or interiors. Otherwise, just try and create a world or life you'd enjoy to be living.

Step 3: I generally make sure I've got at least a few quotes and if there are particular quotes I'd like, I cut out letters individually and create the words myself. Words can be powerful.

Step 4: Start to place things on your sheet of paper however you like and play around until you're happy with how it looks. I tend to stick to areas on the page, one corner for travel, one for self care etc.

Step 5: Carefully remove things, add glue to the back and then stick them down.

Step 6: It's really important to put your vision board somewhere you're going to see it every day or every few days. Bring it into your consciousness and allow yourself to see a future you'd like as often as possible.
